Not this time.
Ball State leaned on its staples — solid 3-point shooting and gritty defense — to keep Miami at bay in a 73-56 win Tuesday night. When these teams played in January, the Cardinals squeaked out a two-point win only after completing a 14-point comeback in the second half.
Ball State (17-9, 8-5 Mid-American Conference) holds sole possession of first place in the MAC West since Toledo (18-8, 7-6) fell to Central Michigan on Tuesday.
"We're certainly starting to feel some excitement about the conference race," head coach James Whitford said after the game.
