MUNCIE, Ind. — For the first time since 2002, and the time outright since 1997, Ball State men's volleyball won the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association regular season title.
The Cardinals (20-3, 12-2 MIVA) beat Purdue Fort Wayne (15-12, 6-8 MIVA) 3-1 (33-31, 19-25, 25-22, 29-27). Meanwhile, Loyola (17-8, 11-3 MIVA), which had a chance to clinch the No. 1 seed in the league tournament, was swept by Ohio State (13-13, 7-7 MIVA) 3-0.
The win also solidified the Cardinals' first 20-win season since 2016.
Ball State was led by Kaleb Jenness (21 kills), Angelos Mandilaris (15 kills, four aces), Vanis Buckholz (seven kills), Felix Egharevba (six blocks), Quinn Isaacson (46 assists, 11 digs) and Colin Ensalaco (three assists, eight digs).
