MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State University will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Friday evening for the Dr. Don Shondell Practice Center, the future practice home of the Cardinals basketball and volleyball programs.
The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. on the north side of Worthen Arena, between Gates 1 and 2. A reception will follow in the Alumni Lounge, located on the lower level of Worthen Arena inside Gate 1. The men's volleyball team will then host Quincy at 7:30 p.m.
All of the evening's events are free and open to the public.
Scheduled for completion by summer 2018, the 19,000-square-foot practice center will provide dedicated practice and meeting space for four Ball State teams: men's and women's basketball and men's and women's volleyball.
