MUNCIE, Ind. -- Two-thirds of Ball State's athletic teams exceeded the national average in the latest multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores released Wednesday by the NCAA. Ten BSU teams posted perfect single-year marks for the latest reporting year.
The women's tennis and cross country teams recorded perfect multi-year scores of 1,000 and earned NCAA Public Recognition awards. The nationwide average was 983, the highest in the 14-year history of the program.
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. It accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
