Ball State needs better rebounding against WMU

MUNCIE — There wasn’t an easy rebound to be had.

The difference in Ball State’s 79-73 loss at Ohio on Sunday was the Bobcats’ steep advantage on the glass. The Cardinals (10-5, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) gave up 10 offensive rebounds which led to 17 second-chance points.

Head coach James Whitford said after the loss it was his team’s worst rebounding effort of the year. He said even though his team struggled defensively, a better effort in boxing out and fighting for rebounds could have yielded a different result.

"Truth be told, if we would have done that, it probably would have been enough," Whitford said.
