Ball State moved into a tie for first place in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association with a 3-1 victory over Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne on March 16.
After losing the first set, 25-21 Ball State came back to win the following three (25-19, 25-23, 25-19).
Junior outside attacker Brendan Surane led the Cardinals offensive attack with 13 kills on his 29 attempts on the night. Senior setter Hiago Garchet led with 33 of the teams 38 assists along with his four kills and sophomore middle attacker Matt Walsh finished with the most blocks of either team with nine block assists on the night.
