MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State men's basketball fans packed Worthen Arena Tuesday night, hoping to experience some thrills before the incoming snowstorm.
Instead, the Cardinals (13-7, 4-3 MAC) put up a dud to lose their first home contest of the season. They trailed 20-3 within the first 6 minutes, a deficit BSU never recovered from before losing 91-65 and sending the lively crowd home to wonder whether they'll endure another cold walk to Worthen Arena for the team's next home game.
It was ugly from the jump as Ball State committed five turnovers in its first seven possessions, appearing unchanged by its rough road loss at Kent State four days prior, in which similarly-aggressive defense caused sloppy BSU play.
