BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — There wasn’t too much to be concerned about after two games. Ball State football had shown significant improvement from 2017 and looked to be headed in the right direction.
Well, let’s pump the brakes. After a discouraging 38-10 loss at Indiana on Saturday, Ball State isn’t there yet – clearly. Here are three concerning trends from Saturday and how to fix them:
1. Sloppy play, especially on special teams
The problem: Ball State was plagued by sloppy play in all three phases of the game Saturday, and that’s a big change from its first two games, which were pretty clean, for the most part.
