Mike Neu shares why Riley Miller is so special for the Cardinals. Ryan O'Gara, The Star Press
MUNCIE, Ind. — The Ball State football team will try to take down Northern Illinois on Saturday for the first time in a decade, and if it does, it has last season to thank.
It's worth flashing back to last season's ugly 63-17 loss to the Huskies. The Cardinals were without nine starters and several key reserves that game, most notably Riley Neal and James Gilbert. Northern Illinois racked up an eye-popping 18 tackles for loss that day (for comparison's sake, the Huskies averaged eight in their other 12 games).
