MUNCIE, Ind. — It’s not uncommon for true freshmen to emerge for Ball State football in a given season.
The Cardinals saw it in 2017 with a wide receiver out of Georgia named Justin Hall and a running back out of Georgia named Caleb Huntley. They saw it in 2018 with a cornerback out of Florida named Amechi Uzodinma II. They saw it in 2019 with an in-state linebacker named Clayton Coll and a cornerback out of Michigan named Nic Jones. So it’s not out of the question history could repeat itself in 2020 as Ball State attempts to take another step as a program in the fifth year of Mike Neu’s tenure as head coach.
