MUNCIE, Ind. — For a team that was picked to finish last in the Mid-American Conference West Division, Ball State’s margin for error is now very slim if it aspires to make the program’s first bowl appearance since 2013.
Ball State twice lost the lead on Saturday afternoon as visiting Western Kentucky held on for a 28-20 victory, its first win of the season. The Cardinals finished the non-conference portion of the schedule 1-3, and would have to go 5-3 in MAC play in order to make a bowl game.
This was yet another disappointing loss after a 38-10 defeat at Indiana last week.
