MUNCIE, Ind. — As Austin Nehls fired the 3-pointer that sent Ball State’s game with Eastern Michigan to double overtime on Tuesday, it was easy to spot the excitement on the bench – especially of three players in particular.
Jarron Coleman, Kani Acree and Miryne Thomas were all very animated before and after the shot. It was a big moment for Ball State’s redshirting trio as Nehls is a fellow newcomer to the program who is often shooting after practice with them. And when Nehls, who has played sparingly this season, got his opportunity to play, he capitalized on it.
