MUNCIE, Ind. — Years from now, it still may never make sense. Why was the Ball State men's basketball team never able to get it going in 2019?
James Whitford said in the preseason that this was his best team in his six seasons at Ball State. On paper, he looked to be right. But once the calendar turned to 2019 and Mid-American Conference slate began, the Cardinals were not a good team for any extended period of time.
The most optimistic of fans sat around waiting for Ball State to kick it into gear, but it never happened.
