MUNCIE, Ind. — K.J. Walton will not participate in Ball State basketball’s senior night festivities Tuesday when it plays Central Michigan at Worthen Arena.
BSU assistant director for athletic communications Tyson Mathews told The Star Press the program is pursuing a medical hardship waiver for the redshirt senior guard, and that Walton is scheduled to have surgery Friday to mend the ankle injury that’s limited his availability this season. Walton, who suffered the injury during a Cardinals’ loss in November 2019 against Northern Kentucky, has only appeared in 10 games total and none since BSU’s win Jan.
