MUNCIE, Ind. — Tayler Persons had a message for Ball State fans Tuesday night, after Ball State dropped its third straight game at Worthen Arena. Much of the fanbase had figured that this would be the year that the Cardinals would finally get over the hump and end a nearly two-decade NCAA Tournament drought, especially after ripping Toledo in the Mid-American Conference opener.
Persons, as emotional as anyone, tried to stay level-headed in the aftermath of a 71-65 loss to visiting Miami Ohio.
"To the fans: Stay with us here," he said. "It’s basketball. There are good teams, we’re a good team.
