CONWAY, S.C. – The Ball State baseball team won a pair of tight games over Cincinnati at the 2016 Chanticleer Classic Saturday by scores of 4-3 and 6-4. This was the first meeting between the two schools since 2006.
In both games, Ball State’s (5-6) bullpen was able to keep Cincinnati (1-9) off the scoreboard in the late innings. The Cardinals’ bullpen tossed seven innings today without allowing a single run. Sophomore Colin Brockhouse went the final four innings in game one and gave up just three hits. In the nightcap, junior BJ Butler retired the final nine Cincinnati batters in order.
