MUNCIE, Ind. — On the precipice of history, Chase Sebby called for a changeup. Luke Jaksich shook his head. He wanted the slider. And just as seemingly everything has for the Ball State baseball team this season, it worked out.
This was a fitting way to end Ball State’s first nine-inning no-hitter in program history last weekend. For all of Ball State’s highly-rated recruits – the Cardinals boast three Player of the Year honorees from high school ball in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio – there are guys like Sebby and Jaksich who weren’t initially part of the long-term plan.
