MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State baseball team was one of 30 NCAA Division I teams to earn an inaugural American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.
Over the last four years under head coach Rich Maloney, Ball State has produced three CoSIDA Academic All-Americans including a pair of first teamers this year – Alex Call and Caleb Stayton. Call, Stayton, BJ Butler and Sean Kennedy were also tabbed as Mid-American Conference Baseball Distinguished Scholar Athletes following the completion of the 2016 season. Meanwhile, Call and Ryan Spaulding completed their Ball State undergraduate degrees this spring.
