MUNCIE, Ind. - - Ball State Athletics will host a retirement celebration for Steve Shondell, the former Burris Laboratory School and Ball State women’s volleyball head coach, prior to the start of Wednesday's match versus IUPUI.
The reception, which will be held in the Worthen Arena Alumni Room, begins at 5 p.m. with refreshments and a brief ceremony at 5:30 p.m. The celebration concludes at 6:55 p.m., leading into Ball State’s home opener versus IUPUI on ESPN3.
In six seasons (2010-2015) as the head coach of his alma mater, Shondell guided the Cardinals to a 119-68 (64-32 MAC) record.
