BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A Ball State football program that had built a considerable amount of momentum in the first two weeks of the season saw it come to a grinding halt on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
For as good as Ball State felt leaving Notre Dame last Saturday, it was at the opposite end of the spectrum Saturday at Indiana. The Hoosiers throttled the Cardinals 38-10 in a game that Ball State fully expected to be competitive in. But it was anything but that after the first drive.
If last Saturday was a confidence booster, this was a wakeup call.
