The final bell has not tolled on the Ball State women's basketball season.
Behind a 24-point effort from reigning Mid-American Conference Player of the Year Nathalie Fontaine, Ball State defeated Iowa 77-72 on the road in the first round of the Women's National Invitational Tournament.
It is the first postseason win for the Cardinals (22-9) since the 2014 season and secured the team a spot in the next round on Saturday.
Ball State built an early advantage thanks to six quick points from Fontaine, leading to a 15-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.
