MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State's Andrew Poenitsch was named Friday to the preseason watch list for the Rimington Trophy, presented annually to the most outstanding center in college football.
Poenitsch, a fifth-year senior from Waukesha, Wisconsin, earned a spot on the list for the second year in a row. He is a two-time Academic All-MAC selection.
The versatile Poenitsch will return to his primary role making the line calls and snaps for the Cardinals again this fall. this fall. He transitioned to left tackle for seven games last season in place of the injured Kaleb Slaven.
