Nobody plays to be No. 2. So KeVonn Mabon strove to be No. 1.
Tuesday night at Miami Mabon hauled in 11 receptions to give him 244 over his Ball State career. The number eclipsed the previous Cardinals record of 238, established by Ball State Hall-of-Famer Dante Ridgeway (arguably considered the best receiver in school history) in 2004. The record also puts Mabon ahead of the likes of Willie Snead, Jordan Williams, Jamill Smith and other top wideouts he both played with and admired in his time in Muncie.
The Mabon story to the top isn't an easy stroll, though.
