CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ball State baseball player Alex Call was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week Monday afternoon thanks to his on-field performance in four games last week.
Call, a native of River Falls, Wisconsin, tallied three hits in every game against Valparaiso and Ohio. In Saturday’s 17-14 win over Ohio, Call finished a single shy of the cycle. He hit a three-run home run to give the Cardinals a 14-13 lead after Ball State had trailed at one point, 13-4. Call hit another three-run home run in Sunday’s 20-3 victory.
