NEW CASTLE, Ind. — For New Castle, Saturday's doubleheader against Delta started kind of how it ended, with a handful of runs in a single inning that led to an eventual victory.
In the first game, nine runs in the bottom half of the first inning led to an eventual 11-1 win. In the second game, New Castle's first runs came in the sixth inning where it tied the game before scoring one more run in the seventh to earn the 4-3 victory and sweep over the visiting Eagles.
And even the cold weather and rainfall that got worse throughout the day couldn't dampen the Trojans' mood, who are now 3-3 in the competitive Hoosier Heritage Conference and have won four of their last five games.
