MUNCIE, Ind. — Last year, Cowan baseball was one of the biggest surprises of the postseason.
The Blackhawks came into the postseason with a losing record. They beat a ranked Wes-Del team and, at one point, were one strike away from losing in the sectional championship to Daleville. They found a way not only to win that game, but to make it to the Class A state semifinals.
It was quite the year under rookie head coach Aaron Wells. It was a run Wells doesn't want his team to forget — there are plenty of lessons to learn when an entire team buys in — but it's also something he doesn't want his team to lean on too much.
