WINCHESTER, Ind. — Getting prepped for the operating room on March 6, Madeline Lawrence was nervous. Not like those before-a-basketball-game nerves, but an anxious feeling.
Winchester's sophomore hoops star played the second half of the state championship game last month with what the trainer suspected to be a torn ACL. Because her knee was still swollen the following Friday, she went to get an MRI. Doctors could tell she needed a scope to clean some loose cartilage but the rest was cloudy.
One of two things was going to happen when Dr. Kyle Siewart opened up that right knee at Henry Community Health.
