MUNCIE, Ind. — About 90 minutes after the Ball State men’s basketball team played Tuesday night, a single ball bounced on the floor at Worthen Arena.
There was Carmen Grande, going through her array of moves, while team manager Alana Aguirre rebounded for her. One dribble, shot. Two dribbles, Euro-step. Spot-up from the wing. The clock was nearing 11 p.m., and Grande was still on the floor getting in a workout, about 20 hours before the Ball State women’s basketball team took on – and took down – Butler for its sixth straight victory to open the season, 87-75, the program’s best start in its 44-year history.
