MUNCIE, Ind. — Thursday night's volleyball match between Muncie Burris and Wapahani was one of the most anticipated intercounty matchups of the season, and it did not disappoint.
Burris won a back-and-forth first set 25-22 and the Owls cruised to a 25-13 victory in the second set.
But Wapahani didn't go away. Late runs gave Wapahani a 25-20 victory in the third set and a 25-21 victory in the fourth set to tie the match up, 2-2. It was the same case in the fifth set as the Raiders took an 11-10 advantage and went on a run to close out the set, 15-11, and the match, 3-2 (22-25, 13-25, 25-20, 25-21, 15-11).
