5 questions: Yorktown’s Stephanie Bloom discusses her father’s influence on her and time coaching volleyball

MUNCIE, Ind. — Yorktown’s head volleyball coach is a well-known figure in East Central Indiana sports.

Stephanie Bloom, formerly Keller, won a state championship as a player with Yorktown volleyball in 2000 before going on to a career at Ball State that would eventually see her honored in the BSU Athletics Hall of Fame. Bloom, a member of the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame as well, got into coaching and spent two years leading Wapahani before taking over at Yorktown ahead of the 2008 season. So far she’s led three state champions, five semi-state champions, eight regional champions and nine sectional champions.
