HARTFORD CITY, Ind. — Luke Brown’s status among Indiana high school basketball players has risen the past two seasons.
The 27.8 points per game he averaged as a freshman and 35 points per game he averaged as a sophomore helped him clear 1,000 career points with ease. Blackford went a combined 1-69 in the three years before he arrived with coach Jerry Hoover, and now the Bruins have gone 14-9 and 17-6 the past two seasons. Brown could challenge Damon Bailey's scoring record and at the same time bring a community back to the days when Blackford often won sectional titles in the 1970s.
