MUNCIE, Ind. — There was a time, earlier this year when Kyle Mallers began to feel pessimistic about his future in professional basketball.
The former BSU men’s basketball athlete wasn’t far removed from returning home after playing a season with S.C. Lusitania in the Portuguese Basketball League. Mallers, who began his professional career after the end of Ball State’s 2019-20 season, said Monday that he hadn’t been receiving many offers. He admitted that it felt both funny and uneasy to wait around wondering if he’d get an opportunity from a team he wants to play for, or if he would be done.
