MUNCIE, Ind. — No Ball State football players were selected in the 2022 National Football League Draft, but several took the next step toward realizing their professional football dreams.
Five former Cardinals — Justin Hall (wide receiver), Christian Albright (linebacker), Curtis Blackwell (offensive lineman), Bryce Cosby (safety) and J.T. Wahee (defensive back) — signed with NFL organizations as undrafted free agents. Drew Plitt (quarterback) got a pair of minicamp tryouts.
Both Hall and Cosby, two cornerstones in Ball State's back-to-back bowl game appearances, signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. Blackwell and Wahee signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Albright signed with the Chicago Bears, and Plitt got minicamp tryouts with the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts.
