MUNCIE, Ind. — For three of the eight volleyball teams competing in the IHSAA state finals, Saturday will essentially be a home match.
Cowan, New Castle and Wapahani are the three East Central Indiana teams that will compete at Ball State's Worthen Arena. Each will have a chance not only to add to their own program's legacy, but to that of a region that has prided itself as being the best in the state.
Having one or more teams representing the area in the finals is nothing new. Since the IHSAA expanded to its four-class system for 1997-98, ECI has had at least one team compete in the state finals every year except during the 2013-14 season.
