TOLEDO, Ohio — Any hopes of a Mid-American Conference championship for Ball State (5-5, 3-3 MAC) ended just before midnight Tuesday night following a 28-21 loss at Toledo (7-3, 5-1 MAC).
The Cardinals offense struggled again despite another career night from sophomore running back Carson Steele. Toledo's offense strung together enough big plays and long touchdown drives to lead it to victory.
