MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State’s road toward a shot at winning another Mid-American Conference tournament title is getting off to a later start than initially anticipated, and in a different calendar year, but Friday it begins with a home matchup against Akron.
The Cardinals are coming off a 2019 season in which they finished 20-12 overall, rattled off a nine-match winning streak from the end of October into late November and reached the NCAA tournament. BSU’s season ended with a loss that December against Nebraska, but still had it compete in the program's first NCAA tournament since 2011.
