MUNCIE, Ind. — Prior to the start of Ball State’s season, about a week before its opening match against Louisville would take place this past Sunday, BSU coach Max Norris expressed excitement about the campaign his Cardinals were about to undertake.
From the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season, Ball State returned each and every one of the athletes who made up that roster. Norris welcomed four new athletes, three freshmen and one graduate student, who’d yet to compete for the Cardinals. And after having last season cut short and seeing what’s happened to teams that have returned to action in recent months, Norris could sense how grateful and eager his players were to have an opportunity to compete this season.
