MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State lost to Fort Wayne, 88-80, in its CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament opener Wednesday, despite a strong performance from point guard Tayler Persons.
The redshirt junior, still rocking a headband to cover up the laceration from a collision in the Mid-American Conference Tournament, put up 18 to pace the Cardinals.
Ball State, with 14 3-pointers on the night, set a new program record with 319 3-pointers this season, beating the previous mark of 310.
The Cardinals finish the season 21-13.
