MUNCIE, Ind. — Twelve East Central Indiana wrestlers on Saturday across two semistate sites qualified for the IHSAA state tournament.
The total is five more than last season, once again proving the area's rising relevancy in the sport. Delta led all ECI programs with four state qualifiers, followed by Jay County, Cowan and Daleville with two, and Monroe Central and New Castle with one.
At the nNew Haven semistate, Jay County's Cameron Clark (138 pounds) and Cowan's Toby Abbott (145) were the only local semistate champions. Others qualifiers were Delta's Ayden Bollinger (second place, 106), Neal Mosier (second, 120), Dillon Tuttle (second, 138) and Braxton Russell (fourth, 160), Cowan's Bowen Keith (fourth, 113), Jay County's Tony Wood (second, 126), Daleville's Julius Gerencser (third, 138) and Jackson Ingenito (fourth, 195), and Monroe Central's Hunter Page (third, 182).
