Max Verstappen's front-row starting position at the Qatar Grand Prix is under threat after he was summoned the stewards for allegedly failing to slow sufficiently for double-waved yellow flags at the end of qualifying.
Verstappen appeared to keep driving through the final sector as double yellows were shown -- indicating for drivers to slow their speed and be ready to stop. The Dutch driver improved on that lap, which raised speculation he had not eased off the throttle.
The caution had come out when Pierre Gasly had sustained a puncture through the penultimate corner and slowed on the start-finish straight.
