Valtteri Bottas says he has no fears of being relegated to a supporting role behind Lewis Hamilton in his first season with Mercedes.
Bottas is preparing for his debut with the world champions, who he signed with earlier this year to replace retired world champion Nico Rosberg. That move has placed him alongside Hamilton, who has been at Mercedes since 2013, winning 32 races and two world championships with the team in that time.
The Finn has no doubts Mercedes will honour his equal status with Hamilton this season.
"I don't fear that, I think Mercedes doesn't have a number one or number two driver and that's pretty much up to me to perform," Bottas said.
