Sauber has announced Pascal Wehrlein will return to race at this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix.
Wehrlein injured his back in a crash at the Race of Champions in Miami earlier this year and was forced to sit out the opening two rounds of the season in Australia and China.
Despite taking part in Friday practice in Melbourne, Wehrlein opted to skip the rest of the Australian Grand Prix weekend after admitting he was not fit enough to complete a full race distance in F1's more demanding 2017 cars.
Ferrari reserve driver Antonio Giovinazzi had replaced him at Sauber, finishing 12th on his grand prix debut in Australia, before suffering a retirement at last weekend's Chinese Grand Prix, as he continued to deputise.
