Former Williams chief technical officer Pat Symonds has joined Sky Sports F1 as an analyst and commentator for the 2017 Formula One season.
Symonds left Williams after a three-year spell at the end of last year, amid speculation that ex-Mercedes executive director (technical) Paddy Lowe is set to return to the Grove-based team. Symonds has worked in F1 in technical roles for four decades, during which he has overseen four drivers' world titles with Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso, as well as three constructors' championships.
Sky says Symonds will provide commentary on a selection of races throughout the year, starting with the season-opening Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne on March 26.
