BARCELONA, Spain -- The FIA has published the official entry list for the 2017 season without Manor, confirming reports owner Stephen Fitzpatrick has formally written to the FIA to withdraw the team from Formula One.
Manor's parent company, Just Racing Services, ceased trading on the event of the current season, though administrators did not own the team's official entry. There had been speculation of talks about a rescue package which would have saved Manor
However, those hopes faded on Wednesday when the FIA's entry list was published without Manor's name on it. That means any interested investor who purchased Manor's remaining assets would need to apply as an all-new team, an unattractive process as it is expensive and time consuming.
