Lewis Hamilton won an absorbing Chinese Grand Prix which started in the wet and ended in the dry,with Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen rounding off the podium places.
The race started in damp conditions and early stops for soft tyres, plus a Virtual Safety Car and Safety Car periods, caused several different pit strategies to unfold. Vettel recovered from an early pit stop to second, while Verstappen sole the plaudits with an incredible first lap which saw him go from 17th to seventh on the first lap, before running second for much of the first stint.
Daniel Ricciardo finished fourth to complete a surprising result for Red Bull who had looked a long way off Mercedes and Ferrari in dry conditions.
