Haas was forced to remove its T-wing from its Formula One car ahead of second practice for the Australian Grand Prix, team principal Guenther Steiner has confirmed.
The FIA ordered it to be removed before the second session after television footage showed the device -- run on both the VF-17s of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen -- flexing significantly on several occasions during the first practice session of the 2017 season in Melbourne. Steiner said he is unsure whether Haas will be allowed to run its version of the T-wing over the rest of the weekend.
"We ran this wing in the whole Barcelona test and never had a problem with it breaking or anything," Steiner explained.
