Gary Paffett to drive Williams in post-Bahrain test

Ex-McLaren Formula One test driver Gary Paffett will take part in the post-Bahrain Grand Prix test later this week with Williams.

The 36-year-old DTM champion, who is about to embark on his 13th season in the German-based touring car championship with Mercedes, will get the chance to drive the Williams FW40 on the second day of the post-race test on Wednesday. Lance Stroll and Felipe Massa are set to split test duties on Tuesday.

Paffett joined Williams as its simulator driver ahead of the 2016 season, having spent 13 years as a test driver with McLaren. While the Briton has not raced in F1, he clocked up a total of 22,745km of track time during his spell at McLaren.
