F2 driver Gelael gets Toro Rosso F1 test role

Toro Rosso has signed Formula Two racer Sean Gelael as its test driver for the 2017 Formula One season.

Gelael will make his F1 test debut next month during the first in-season test in Bahrain on April 18-19. The 20-year-old recorded one podium on his way to finishing 15th in last year's GP2 championship and will return to contest his sophomore campaign in the newly-rebranded series with Arden, having switched from Campos.

The Indonesian is also set to take part in the Hungary test before the summer break and will drive the STR12 in the Abu Dhabi post-season test at Yas Marina.
