Brake failure costs Verstappen 'a lot of points'

Max Verstappen believes Red Bull lost out on a big haul of points at the Bahrain Grand Prix as a result of the brake failure on his car.

Verstappen moved from sixth to fourth at the start and was putting pressure on Lewis Hamilton when he made a pit stop on lap 11 to try to undercut the Mercedes. However, on the following lap a brake failure saw his car continue straight at Turn 4 and out of the race.

"It's not a very nice feeling if you hit the pedal and the pedal just goes very long and you cannot stop the car properly," Verstappen said.
