Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso was quick to praise Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen after their tense but fair battle at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Hamilton and Verstappen were in a class of their own on Sunday, finishing 60 seconds ahead of the Ferrari drivers and one lap ahead of everyone else. Hamilton passed Verstappen four laps from the finish in a race which saw both men fight wheel-to-wheel, before a strategic masterstroke from Mercedes helped the five-time world champion make a pass for the win four laps from the finish.
Alonso stepped away from F1 at the end of last year and has been a frequent critic of the current state of the championship.
